When it comes to building relationships with your online course students, personalized video messages are a great way to do it. I have tried several video messaging services and recommend Bonjoro to my clients. I was so impressed with their software that I signed up to be an affiliate as well.
Bonjoro For Onboarding
There is nothing more frustrating than buying an online course and then feeling confused and lost about what to do next. Having a good onboarding system is crucial if you don’t want your students to get buyers remorse. One way you can make your new students feel welcome is by sending them a personal video message. Bonjoro has you covered.
A personal video message not only coveys that you notice the student and want to help, it shows you are a real person. Getting a personal video message from the course creator is an amazing surprise and will delight your students.
In this video, Eric from Bonjoro will show you some great examples of onboarding videos. He will also share 3 tips with you. I am grateful that Eric offered to make this video for my audience. Take it away Eric…
Bonjoro For Student Engagement
Keeping your students engaged in your online course can be hard. Most of the time, you have no idea that your student is even struggling. It is not often a student will reach out to you for help. They are more than likely just going to quit when things get hard or confusing. This leads to unfinished courses and unhappy customers. Unhappy customers lead to less sales and no testimonials at best. It could even lead to refunds or bad reviews.
To help alleviate this problem, you can use Bonjoro. You can set up different intervals to check in with your students. Let’s say your course should take a student 30 days to complete. You could send out a follow-up message 15 days after they sign up to ask how everything is going and if they have any questions. Remind them that you are there for them to answer any questions. Send another one 30 days out to see if they have finished your course. This is the perfect time to ask for feedback.
If you want, you can also set up your LMS to send you notifications when a student reaches a certain point in your course. You can reach out to them at those different points. If you are watching your analytics closely, you should be able to see when your students get stuck or even stop logging in. Bonjoro is a perfect way to re-engage those students.
I also wrote another article on Student Engagement if this is something you struggle with.

Getting Feedback And Testimonials With Bonjoro
Asking for feedback from your students can be a struggle. If they are like most of us, they are tired of seeing emails asking for feedback and survey request. Every time I order a pizza from my favorite pizza place, they send a feedback survey. The fact that I order from them around once a month should be enough. You took my money, and now you want my time? Geez!
Ok, rant over.
Anyway, asking your students in a video message is a much nicer way to request feedback and even testimonials. You can ask a specific question or even ask them to get back to you if they are willing to give you a testimonial. Bonjoro works with your email, so they can just hit reply and respond back to you.
Why Use Bonjoro?
There are many great reasons to use Bonjoro for your personal video messaging.
- Ease Of Use
- App for Apple And Android
- Chrome Extension
- Free Trial To See If It Is Right For You
- Super Friendly And Helpful Staff
- Lots Of Integrations (too many to mention)
- Great Analytics
Bonjoro works not only with learning management systems, it works with many email marketing systems, your CRM, and it also integrates with Zapier, which gives you even more reach.
You will be able to see who has viewed your messages and track all your customer data. You can even set up an auto-resend for messages that do not get opened. This is a great feature to have.
Bonjoro is quick to use on the go. If you had 10 new people sign up for your online course in the last 24 hours, you can record all those welcome messages back to back in just a few minutes. You can set up email templates with a call to action and any links you want to include. Then you just pull out your phone once a day and record all the messages. The personal touch here can not be beat.
If you want to see exactly how Bonjoro works, check out this Bonjoro tutorial I made. It was made a little while back, but is still relevant. I go through the details of how to use Bonjoro software for the computer and the phone app. I use Android myself, but it is very similar on Android and Apple.
